"The Thinker"

This work underscores the synergization of knowledge and creativity.
Albert Einstein once said that “educations is not the mere  learning of facts, but the ability to imagine”’ i.e. prognosticate, call into being things that are not yet existent.
It all starts with a simple thought, which may be nebulous at the onset, but begins to take shape, until it becomes tangible. In the focal point of this work, is inspired by “The Vitruvian Man” by Leonardo Da Vinci, around 1490, It is super- imposed on a big palm to depict the blend of art & science during the renaissance, and forms the renaissance proportions theories in art and architecture.
At the background of the picture are ornamentally crafted staves of various designs and the popular “Adire” motifs of the South-Western Nigeria dyed fabrics, all of which depicts artistic creativity. Perhaps, I should simply re-title the work ‘creativity’
